I'm So Attracted to You: Freddy Talks about
Magnets
What are magnets?
Definition: magnet (mag•net)
An object that is surrounded by a magnetic field and that
has the property, either natural or induced, of attracting
steel or iron.
Magnets
Originally only lodestones, or natural magnets, were known.
In 1830, Michael Faraday, an English scientist and Joseph
Henry, and American physicist found that a magnetic field
could be produced through wire.
How do they work?
A magnetic field is produced when a large cluster of iron
atoms line up with each other. A magnet can be made from
various materials that can contain these clusters of aligned
atoms.
